Committed to the Community
Committed to the Community is our dedicated space for highlighting the work, service, and outreach of the DeKalb County Democrats. Here, we share local initiatives, community resources, volunteer opportunities, and ways our neighbors can get involved to make a positive impact. Whether it’s supporting local families, uplifting civic engagement, or organizing events that bring people together, this page reflects our ongoing commitment to building a stronger, more connected DeKalb County.
God's Food Pantry

The DeKalb County Democrats and friends made a donation of over $1,000 to God's Food Pantry in Smithville in remembrance and honor of Donna Davis. She was a tireless worker for her community and selfless volunteer. We made the donation in her honor to God’s Food Pantry while SNAP benefits were paused due to the government shutdown. We felt that she would have been in favor of our lending a hand to those in need in the community. After all, we were only following the example that she had set over many years!

Habitat for Humanity
The Dekalb Democrats are committed to working with the Upper Cumberland Habitat for Humanity to help build a stronger community for everyone! For the past three years we have gotten a booth and made chili at the annual chili cook off fund raiser for them.

Adopt a Highway
The DeKalb county Democrats have been partnering with TDOT’s Adopt-A-Highway program since 2023. Our two mile stretch of highway 70 runs roughly from DCHS to Walmart. We usually meet several times each year to clean it up. Join our mailing list if you are interested in participating at our next clean up event.
